PV1 Service (Quality Service at Work):

At my current job at FishNet Security I strive at all times to be client centric. This means providing quality training, listening to feedback, and designing and recommending learning schemes that fit their eLearning styles and needs. For example, I take the time when helping clients set up their online training to go beyond just the basic training. For one client, I helped them setup a training tracking system that also tracked on the job training that was taking place. Although not part of the original scope of the work, because the client was willing to extend themselves and learn I was able to share my expertise and provide a client-centered service.

PV2 Leadership (LI862 Kanza Prairie Group Leadership):

In LI8162, when my group was having a hard time working together, I stepped forward to lead the group through a challenging online project. One of the challenges that made this project hard to coordinate was the lack of face to face sessions. I organized my group members and polled them to decide both on the topic we would compile information about (The Kanza Prairie) and recommended the technology we would use to host and organize our website on the Kanza Prairie (an online wiki system). I then scheduled updates, gave training sessions on use of the online tool, and assigned group members to completed different sections and helped provided quality assurance standards. With my leadership our group was able to receive a passing grade despite the challenges we faced.

PV3 Integrity (LI863 Leadership Journaling):

In L863, we read and wrote extensively in a series of three journal entries about the ethical behaviors, knowledge, and attitudes a leader should exhibit.  We focused on the rights of the worker and how we should treat those we are leading. Part of treating co-workers ethically was recognizing times when we have seen people treated unethically. We also examined the types of power that we have as leaders and how we should use our power and attitudes in a positive fashion. Although we may sometimes feel like we don’t have freedom or power in our work lives we always have the ability to choose integrity.

PV4 Mentorship (Training New Employees at In Information Values and Skills)

When I took on a position of leadership at FishNet Security (Supervisor of eLearning Services) I was given the responsibilities of mentoring coworkers and clients. I have led coworkers to information conference to learn and expand their knowledge and abilities as well as helping them pick out useful training. I also assign pertinent reading and point them towards information resources that will help them in their day to day work. I show them the ethical way to deal with problems through my emails and my actions.
